Escaping Reality with Fraggle Rock

"Dance your cares away, worries for another day. Let the music play, down in Fraggle Rock." As a fan of Jim Henson and after watching The Muppet Show on Disney Plus, I thought it would be fun to watch another classic series called Fraggle Rock.  Fraggle Rock is a show that ran from 1983 to 1987. It was not on TV when I was a kid but I know it was on when my parents were young.  Back to Fraggle Rock, the show is about small colorful creatures called Fraggles who live underground and sometimes shows smaller characters called Doozers, small characters who work on construction projects in Fraggle Rock and are the opposite of Fraggles: they all about work. The show also explores other characters that live above ground like a man named Doc and his dog, Sprocket. Each episode shows the Fraggles having to solve a problem. The episode I watched was about not having water. The Fraggles are cute creatures who get along very well with each other and sing a lot. The songs are fun and shor...

The Muppets and Lady Gaga: A Unique Combination

I like The Muppets and I am a fan of Lady Gaga so I thought I would watch Lady Gaga & The Muppets Holiday Spectacular. It was interesting. The show has a great introduction by Gaga herself but then it got weird. The show had an interesting performance of Venus with people dressed like planets dancing then it was Sir Elton John singing Art Pop with Lady Gaga. That performance was fine but she kept making a growling sound which was strange.  The special almost forgot it was a holiday special. The show had a few Christmas songs but it could use a few more. The special seemed more like a promotion for her album ArtPop and less than an actual holiday special. The Muppets did make some great appearances like the duet between Kermit and Lady Gaga. I also liked the holiday pieces the Muppets were in such as asking them different holiday questions like their most inappropriate gift or auditions for guests for the show that is currently going on. The special was not as bad as some people...

5 Things I Want To See In Season 2 Of The Muppets Mayhem

In the words of Dr. Teeth, Oh yeah!! After watching Muppet Mayhem, I have some questions that could be answered in a second season. There are some spoilers from the show, so you have been warned.  1. How Did It All Begin? Aside from the awesome cameos, the one thing I would want to see more of are the flashbacks. The Electric Mayhem do not have much of a backstory on screen, so it would be interesting to see how Floyd and Dr. Teeth found Janet, Lips as well as Zoot. It would also be neat to see how Animal grew up. Animal, like some people including me, view and understand the world differently.  It would be interesting to see how Floyd raised Animal and how they knew to keep him on a chain. Did he run away one day and Floyd thought, "Maybe we should keep him close to us so he doesn't run away again."  Also I am curious how they became the house band for The Muppet Show. Did Kermit go to one of their shows and offer them the gig? 2. How Did They Get Their Names? We now kno...

Traveling Virtually

Image
I went to a concert during the pandemic but from the safety of my home. It was loud and exciting, and I didn't even need a ticket. I watched a live concert of Halestorm performing at the Mohegan Sun arena using my phone and Virtual Reality (VR) headset.  The concert itself was better than one other VR concert I went to last year, Avenged Sevenfold performing on top of Capital Records ( Live from Capital Records ). That concert was good but it was too quiet, it felt more like a studio performance. There were not any fans to pump the band up.  But if I want to enjoy the band with a live audience, I can just go back to Rock Allegiance where they blew my mind opening their set with Nightmare.  Seeing Halestorm in VR on YouTube ( A Virtual Reality Concert With Halestorm ) was a unique experience, it felt like I was on stage watching them. I got different views of the concert: the video would switch to the crowd, Lizzy standing in front of the crowd and me facing th...
